Daily: 6:00am & 8:30am. Tour departs from Waikiki Hotels.

Expedition Description

This is the original Pearl Harbor Tour. Before the other attractions showed up at Pearl Harbor this was the tour that everyone did. It is still popular today because it is a short tour that allows you to spend your afternoon at the beach.

Don’t worry, it still covers the Arizona Memorial completely. On the drive from Waikiki to Pearl Harbor you will listen to a professional narration from a certified tour guide. It is a great refresher to your history classes in school. You will most certainly learn a few new facts as well as y0our guide discusses the dramatic events that led to the WWII.

When you arrive at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center you will have some free time to explore the fascinating exhibits and displays. The Pearl Harbor program begins with a 25 minute film about the attack. Then you will board a boat to the USS Arizona Memorial.

After departing Pearl Harbor, drive through the Historic district in a Honolulu City Tour.  See Iolani Palace, the only Royal Palace on United States soil. Learn the story of the Kamehameha Statue(s). Go inside the volcanic crater called Puowaina, which is now Punchbowl National Cemetery of the Pacific.

Then return to your hotel early enough to enjoy other activities.

The ranger in the memorial is a delightful gentlemen who contributes greatly to the experience, be sure to have a good look around the walls and the water whilst on the Arizona. This was a great excursion. It is such a powerful place and a great way to learn about American history. Highly recommend.

This memorial to the fallen ship and most of her crew, should be one of the must see things to do on Oahu. And now, with the USS Missouri within sight, both of these magnificent naval ships should be a must. You are in this beautiful island and when you think of how death and destruction comes from the sky to destroy it. Don’t miss this experience.

We were here as part of the tour, our kids are 12-14yo. The short 23min video shown before this boat ride to the Arizona memorial really sets the tone, it is educational and very moving.  The actual memorial is very nicely built structure and you can feel the extra-ordinary sense of calm and peace while on it. Makes you appreciate the sacrifices made by our armed forces personnel that day.
