90 Minute Movie set tour in beautiful Ka’a’awa valley Oahu.

So many of your favorite movies and shows have been filmed in Hawaii. Most were probably filmed in Ka’a’awa Valley, known as Hollywood’s “Hawaii Backlot”.  The Oahu Movie Tour at Kualoa Ranch visits the outdoor sets of some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.

Your tour begins as you board a vintage Kualoa Ranch school bus. Your first stop is the infamous Jurassic Park fallen tree.  You will see Godzilla’s footprints nearby.  You should recognize the battlefield of Windtalkers and Hawaii Five-O.  Lost filmed extensively in this area.  Fans of 50 First Dates will remember the penguin scene filmed here. Other sites from You, Me & Dupree, Mighty Joe Young and others will be familiar as you tour the valley.

Ka’a’awa continues to be a popular location for filming. You might even see filming of a new movie while you are on tour.

One stop is an actual WWII Army bunker.  It is tunneled into the side of the mountain.  Inside are props, memorabilia, and posters from the movies filmed at Kualoa Ranch.

After your tour of the valley, the bunker and the movie sites, you will want to go home and watch all of these movies again. This is an enjoyable tour for people who like movies, but it is also a great way to see one of Oahu’s most beautiful valleys, Ka’a’awa.

1 hr 1/2 on an old school bus. we drove on this old dirt path north of the ranch. Our tour guide Caleb was really fantastic. He took pictures of people for them and was able to explain not only what movies had been filmed there but what plants and animals live on the farm as well. Beautiful view of the mountain and valley. The WWII bunker was very interesting to walk through and see the 30 different movies that had filmed on this location. the views and vistas were simply breathtaking, had a terrific time.

We lucked out and the other people for our time did not show, so it was just my wife and I. We had a wonderful time on the ride and got to see wonderful views of the ocean and the valley. Being fans of Lost it was also neat to see where Lost and many other shows and movies were filmed. Beautiful mountains-well worth the money.

Enjoyed every minute of it.  We did movie site tour in 2015 and fell in love with this ranch. We did the movie sites tour for our grandson who is a huge Jurassic Park fan. We were not disappointed and had an amazing time. Tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly.

We did the movie bus tour at 12:45. I was worried that it would be too hot but the breeze was nice once we started driving. Stephanie was our guide and she made it worth the money.   I found the history of the Ranch and exploring the World War II bunker interesting.

Being a bit of a movie and World War II buff I found the tour interesting. We were able to spend some time while the tour guide took pics of us by the Jurassic Park sign and log! Watching this movie again when we get back home.

The views of the mountains when you get there are spectacular. You can definitely see why so many movies use this as their backdrops. Our tour guide was informative and lots of fun. You are taken through a variety of movie and TV set locations. As a bit of a geek, this is one of my favorite things about the tour. There are also some points of historical importance pertaining to WW2. I would recommend a visit to Kualoa Ranch to anyone.

This was one of the attractions I made a point to go to. The movie tour takes you on a bus ride around the ranch, which is still a working cattle ranch. The view from the top of the hill is fantastic and there’s a bunker you get to walk through as well. Our tour guide Jimmy was amazing! Very funny and knowledgeable, and lots of interesting WWII info.

We did the movie set tour. My family of four visited this beautiful ranch in December 2015.  The tour was exciting and we visited numerous movie sites (Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Godzilla).

The movie sites were cool. Going to watch some of those movies over again. Our guides were fun…melani, sonny and keith. It just amazes me that there are no snakes in Hawaii. The food at the ranch was surprisingly good. They have free range cattle all over the ranch and serve it — burgers were delicious. Definitely do this tour if you can
