What you can expect: giant banyan trees, bamboo forests, the soothing sounds of tropical birds, and finally the jaw-dropping Manoa Falls. This tropical Hawaii tour is Oahu’s beauty performing at its highest level.
Oahu Waterfall Hike
Explore one of Oahu’s most beautiful waterfalls with a hike along the shimmering Manoa Falls. The adventure begins along a gorgeous rainforest path. While the sounds of tropical birds serenade you, towering bamboo forests and banyan trees spring up on all sides. Tropical vines cover the trees as the trail snakes along to one of the tallest waterfalls on Oahu.
Among the trees, you can catch sight of tropical birds feasting on the delectable fruit of the mango, apple, and guava trees that grow wild within the jungle. The two-mile hike crisscrosses a valley that was once farmed by early Hawaiians. As the hike continues, your expert guide will point out the changes that have occurred over the years. Be sure to bring your camera so can take photos at the sites where Hawaii Five-0, Jurassic Park, Lost, and The Hunger Games were filmed. The last stop on the trip is a drive across the mountain slopes of Diamond Head for a final photo op before you return to Waikiki.
Experiencing Manoa Falls
The first stop on the hike is in a tropical rainforest. From there, you can look out at the cascading waterfall. Next, you’ll hike through the Manoa Valley. Over the centuries, this area has been the home of many different Hawaiian social classes, from taro farmers to royalty. More recently, missionaries and cattle ranchers have lived in this beautiful valley.
After the hike wraps up, you’ll be taken to the slopes of Diamond Head. From there, you can look eastward to Maunalua Bay, Kahala, and Koko Head. Be sure to take plenty of pictures from here and capture memories that will last a lifetime.
